Survey about internet
Results about our inquiry : survey’s commentary.
Actually, we can notice that Internet is more and more present in French families. Indeed, the Thursday, November 6th 2007, we have made a survey in English class of 32 students. They have answered at our survey and we can deduce several conclusions.
In the first place it’s important to say that a majority of students have internet at home, indeed 29 persons who represent 90.6% .That’s why we can say that Internet have a primordial place in French families. We can see also say that 96.9% of students use Google like motor of search, in that case Google is the most popular motor of search in our population studied.
To understand this observation, we have asked to students why they use internet. The most of them use it in order to make researches or to take information. Indeed 78.1% of students make theirs researches on Internet. Moreover at the question: what is your favourite type of site? 56.25% of students have answered: informative sites.
To conclude, we can suppose that students use the internet for theirs studies. Besides, a part of them use it to speak on MSN, they represent 46.8%, so we understand why 37.5% of them use chat and blog as type of site.
To finish, we can say that internet become a new mean of communication in our society. Besides 31.25% prefer communicate with internet (blog, chat, e-mail, Msn). So, this result shows us that the internet takes the place of phone for a lot of students. So, 93.75% of students have an e-mail address and use it like a mean of communication.
Then, we have asked to students if they use internet to do purchases, 53% of them have already bought something on it, against 47% who never do it. We can deduce that internet is becoming a real economic deal.
We have asked also to students, what is their opinion about internet, 71.9% think internet is useful, 21.8%, indispensable, moreover 18.75% use it for leisure, to play games and download. In all cases internet is never negatively considered. Moreover we can add that internet touch the majority of population since 100% of them use it. So, even if they don’t have it at home, they use it in university, cyber coffee or friend’s home. Besides we can say that even though students don’t use internet at the same frequencies, 46.9% of them use it every days and 37.5% several times by week.
To conclude we can say, internet is a societal link between people and their society and this in all spheres (economic, social). It’s a phenomenon which touches every body, since it produces service, it’s funny.
